Kristi Schreiner-Huffey – Owner

Blue Moon Healing Arts is the creation of Kristi Schreiner-Huffey, CST, LMP, MSW. Kristi is a Pacific Northwest artist who loves creating, learning, and spending time in nature. When her son was born on a rare blue moon in 2004, she was inspired to make a life-changing decision and quit her job as a counselor to study massage, the body, health, fitness, farming, and creating and designing jewelry.

Kristi graduated from massage school in April 2007 and earned her Massage Therapist license (MA 00024494) the following month. She’s been practicing massage ever since and is now the only certified CranioSacral (CST) and SomatoEmotional Release (SER) therapist in Walla Walla.

Kristi’s approach of CST, SER, deep tissue massage, essential oil treatments, trigger points, and all her other tools are unique to the Walla Walla Valley. Her services provide an alternative approach to healing the mind, body, and spirit in a way that traditional methods aren’t doing or can’t do alone.

Blue Moon Healing Arts Mission

Blue Moon Healing Arts prides itself on quality, integrity, client satisfaction, education, timeliness, welcoming, and responsibility. Kristi conveys this by continuing to take classes to build her tool box as a therapist, communicating to the client about findings in his or her treatment session, keeping a clean workspace, executing on what she says she is going to do, greeting people at the door whenever possible, staying punctual, building relationships, setting boundaries, and showing empathy.

Kristi’s goal in life is to be a phenomenal human being, giving high quality service, information, and craftsmanship that allow her own inspiration to shine through. She loves learning, creating, caring for animals, and mothering her children. She believes in love, working hard, and being present for her family, friends, and clients. Kristi always tries to live in the positive and treat every day as a new opportunity, a morale that shines through in her business.

Blue Moon Healing Arts is designed to inspire others to make changes in their lives that will ultimately bring them inner peace and healing. Kristi hopes that her services will help others move towards a life of self-actualization, enlightenment, healthy living, and sustainability. Her mission in life is about becoming, evolving, learning, growing, accepting failure, moving forward, and helping others do the same. Ultimately this means taking responsibility of one’s life.

Kristi goes with the flow of her curiosity. She is not just a therapist. She is an artist as well. She has many different interests and always jumps at the opportunity to learn something new. Whether she’s helping a client through a tough CST session or helping someone pick out the perfect necklace, Kristi applies compassion, hard work, and integrity in everything she does.

Education and Experience

Kristi often pushes her limits physically and mentally. For instance, in November 2016, she ran her first trail marathon with 5000 feet of climbing. She is often involved in many different projects. When she first moved onto her Walla Walla farm, she farmed flowers, and did chair massage at the market while selling flowers and jewelry. However, she realized this was too much while raising kids and eventually stopped farming flowers and doing the Farmer’s Market.

Prior to working as a CranioSacral massage therapist, Kristi also worked as a counselor for children, families, and the severely mentally ill. She graduated in 1999 with a Master’s Degree in Social Work and worked with children and families for about 6 years. Then she took a job with the Crisis team for 4 years in Walla Walla, evaluating for mental illness and hospitalization (both involuntary and voluntary). This work pushed her to mature on all levels and made her acknowledge the reality of our culture and how the mentally ill are handled and cared for. Shortly after, she had her son and began to realize that while she loved working with people, there was still another path for her, although her background in Social work prepared her and brought her full circle to CranioSacral Therapy.

After becoming a licensed massage therapist in May 2007, Kristi studied CranioSacral therapy. In April 2014, Kristi took the first CranioSacral class and began practicing CranioSacral Therapy. Since then, she has taken the following courses:

  •       CranioSacral 1
  •       CranioSacral 2
  •       SomatoEmotional Release 1
  •       SomatoEmotional Release 2
  •       CranioSacral Dissection
  • Conception, Pregnancy and Birth 1
  • Touching the Brain 1:Stimulating Self-Correction Through The Glial Interface

Kristi became a certified CranioSacral Therapist on March 27,2017. She is currently signed up for the next level of certification, CranioSacral Therapy - Diplomate (CST-D).  When her children are older, Kristi plans to contribute to the area of teaching CranioSacral Therapy.

Kristi loves CranioSacral work because it is so complex yet simple. She has been challenged by it to delve deeper into the human anatomy and further her knowledge of the body on an emotional, mental, physical, and spiritual level. This work has motivated her to keep growing, learning, and inspiring others to do the same.

Handcrafted Jewelry and Other Products

In addition to massage services, Blue Moon also offers a venue of products including Young Living essential oils, handcrafted jewelry, muscle comfort salves, and essential oil soy candles.

When Kristi is not massaging a client, running, doing yoga, or spending time with her family and horses, she is making her top-selling product: jewelry. Blue Moon Healing Arts jewelry is made using high quality craftsmanship and materials. Kristi uses high quality stones or interesting raw stones, healing stones, and protective stones. All of her pieces are one of a kind. Each piece has its own positive energy and is infused with love. They’re made from silver, copper, gold filled (gold over silver), and occasionally bronze.

Kristi weaves a part of herself into every piece.  She tries to create every component of the piece herself. Her work is more art than costume jewelry. However, it is designed in a way that can be worn everyday. She likes to do a lot of fusing, particularly circles. Fusing is a method of molding silver wire in the shape desired and applying heat. The heat turns the silver into a liquid and at the cut will form a solid piece. However, if it gets too hot, the silver will contract and the whole project will turn into a ball of silver. It’s a very delicate process. Kristi stays aware and in the present moment to make sure all pieces are unique and made to perfection. The same goes with how she approaches her massage sessions.
